We had a great Easter in the Texas panhandle! We spent a couple of days with Gammy and a couple of days with Nana, Pawpa and the gang. Thankfully we managed to avoid the snow, so the egg hunting went on as planned. Brooke & Briana did great on the flight (even with the ear infection that Briana had). Mom was doing OK - I got to see the wound and it is looking a lot better. Mom looks very thin and I think she is ready to get out of that hospital bed, but we are probably looking at another couple of months before she is healed; then we'll have to see what all she has lost and what she's still able to do. This weekend was a big one for Briana vocally...she picked up at least 3 new words to her repertoire. She also knows and can tell you the sounds of most of her animals (duck and cow are two of my favorites, with lion close behind). Brooke was super excited to get to play with Bubba and Peanut and can't wait to go back. We all agreed the trip wasn't long enough.
