Easter

The first Easter egg hunt we participated in was our neighborhood egg hunt.  It was a great turn out and they seperate the kids based on age ranges.  Briana's age range was 2nd and Brooke's was 3rd.  They both got a bunch of eggs full of neat candy and prizes (stickers, rings, balls, etc).  Here's Brooke's group heading to the hunt.

Brooke found eggs with coins in them.  Each coin got her a special prize that she got to go pick.  The really awesome thing about these three coins is the when Brooke went to pick her prizes, she picked two for herself and used her third coin to select a prize for her little sister - totally unprompted.  It was a proud momma moment, indeed.
For Easter weekend, Pawpa, Aunt Jenny, Uncle Matt-Matt, Timothy and Peanut were able to come to our house.  It was so neat having them here.  I think the girls were super excited to have them all here.  The girls colored eggs (no surprise, but coloring Easter eggs doesn't really appeal to 14 year old boys).
We did the egg hunt on Saturday afternoon because Sunday was the day they were leaving town.  We had tons of eggs that were hidden and they girls all had a great time finding them all.
Of course, no egg hunt is complete without some cascarones.  I had the last one in my hand and was prepared to get Brooke.
It took a little more work than I originally thought (those chicken legs of hers can MOVE!)
Ultimately, longer chicken legs prevailed and I got her!
Perhaps the greatest shocker was that Briana asked and actually sat with the Easter Bunny for a picture.  Maybe there's hope for Christmas and Santa this year.
