A really awesome Daddy

Brooke's elementary school is great - I've said that before.  There is a significant parent involvement at the school.  Most of the day to day volunteers are the Moms of these great students.  But our school also has a program for the Dads.  And every day of the year, there is at least one Dad volunteering at the school - all day long.  The program is called Watch D.O.G.S. and stands for Dads of Great Students.  My sweet, wonderful, husband signed on to be a Watch D.O.G. Dad.   (He totally did it for that little girl of his and because he loves her so very much).  Lucky for Brookie, he asked and got his assignment on her 6th birthday.  The two of them wore matching shirts.  Roger had to volunteer in the car pool lane to help kids out of the car, then he and Brooke did announcements together and Brooke got to introduce Roger and he introduced her on the announcements.  Roger spent the rest of his day volunteering in every grade, got to eat lunch with Brooke, went outside at recess with her and helped in the car pool lane after school.  Brooke loved having him at school with her all day.  He said he got confirmation that he picked the right career. ;)  He's a total rock star of a Dad.  He never misses a thing that either of our girls are involved in, unless he's stuck at work or gets called out to work.  He sits through each practice, every recital and jumps at any chance to be with them.  He knows the names of their teachers and chats with them regularly.  He picks the girls up from school every day and makes dinner so that when I come home, we can eat together at our dinner table - all of us.  He makes them laugh and he makes them feel loved.  He creates spectacular, hand made gifts for them.  He also makes them stand on their own two feet and expects them to be great.  He makes them feel special and you can tell how much they adore him everytime he walks in the room.  I am so blessed that he is such a magnificent father.
