First progress report

Yesterday we got Brooke's first ever 'official' progress report. I am so proud of Brooke. In talking to her teacher, this is the first of two reports we'll get and they do not expect any child to have any level of mastery on anything at this point in the game. SO, without further ado...here's why we are beaming with pride and hoping to make Brooke proud of herself:

Subjects:
Phonics = Mastered/Excellent
Writing = Developing/Average
Math = Mastered/Excellent
Science = Developed/Good

Art = Mastered/Excellent

YAAAAAAAAY Brookie!

Now the conduct was not as overwhelmingly positive, but in the grand scheme of things, it really was pretty impressive. Not a single 'unsatisfactory' any where on this report and I also know that she is not one of the problem students in her Pre-Kindergarten class. She helps her friends and her teachers (in fact, her teachers had to curb her helping her friends a tad because they were taking advantage of her and letting her do it instead of her helping)

Pays Attention = Needs Improvement
Follows Direction = Needs Improvement
Completes Assignments = Satisfactory
Uses Time Wisely = Needs Improvement
Respects Authority = Satisfactory
Plays well with others = Satisfactory
Obeys Class Rules = Needs Improvement
Obeys safety rules = Satisfactory
Shares ideas & Class Participation = Satisfactory

Takes Turns listening and speaking = Needs Improvement

In each of the 'needs improvement' areas, I absolutely don't argue with those, but the teacher assures me that she's still ahead of the game in her conduct as well. At least she's got satisfactory on some BIGGIES and some of the basics for getting through life.

I'm super impressed that she completes her work, respects authority (yay, us and way yay Brookie), plays well with others and obeys safety rules. I also love that she is confident enough to share her ideas and participate in class.

So here is one HUGE pat on the back for my girlie.
