12 weeks!

Ha ha ha...no. I am not announcing a pregnancy. Although one of my friends just did and I am SUPER happy for her. She's gonna be a great momma. And I'm not-so-secretly praying that it's a baby girl who has beautiful red hair like her momma too. ;) But I digress. Back to our 12 weeks.

12 weeks ago, Sierra had her knee/leg surgery. They told us we had to really restrict her activity for 12 weeks and that it would take a good 4-6 months to heal. Well, this week was 12 weeks so when the girls asked if we could all walk to the neighborhood park, we decided to let the dogs come along. Sierra was soooooooooo excited. She loves going on walks and has felt quite neglected the past 3 months. Dakota, poor dog, gets excited and then about 4 blocks in looks back like, 'aw, hell - what did I just do?' It's about a half a mile to the park and about a half a mile back. I was a little nervous about Sierra making it, but she did really well. We got about two blocks from the park and she just laid down in someone's yard. We let her rest for a little while and then let the girls play at the park for a little longer than normal so that Sierra could recuperate for the long walk back home. Once we got to the park, we noticed it had apparently been over-watered.
Yeah, that's muddy water she's laying down in.
Decided the sidewalk under the cool, muddy water wasn't too comfy, so she shook dry
and changed locations - right into the mud.
Not to be outdone by her older, four legged sibling, Briana tried out the muddy water puddle too.
She almost bit it here, but managed to save herself. I was impressed - I'd have surely bit it right in the puddle.

The walk back took way longer than the walk there, but we do also have Dakota. Sierra was leading the pack (because that's what she always does) and Dakota was lagging way behind. There at the end, I was actually afraid I was going to have to kick Briana out of the wagon and put Dakota in it. She's way too heavy for me or Roger to carry that far.

We made it home and Sierra was fine. We gave her a pain pill since she hadn't had that much work on that leg in a while. The next morning she was back to her old self again. Yaaaaay for a successful surgery and recovery.
