N2N night

Each year, we attend National Night Out. This year, the state of Texas decided to do N2N on a weekend in August (versus a Tuesday night in October). N2N stands for Neighbor 2 Neighbor. Just an opportunity to get out, spend the evening with your neighbors and promote a strong community. We had a great time at ours. Pizza, games, bounce houses, police men (we have some really good ones in our fine community), fire trucks and prizes - what more could a family ask for?! (oh and all for FREE!) Jacob won a pair of Chinese handcuffs and was showing Brooke how to work them.

A water balloon toss game for the adults. Rog and I came in second (the guy to Roger's right and his teammate placed first).
Looking good so far. Then we were down to us and the other match. (but did you notice above our team was the only one with a 3rd player holding on to my dress???)

And wham-o. At least I got Rog instead of the other way. ;)
Next up was the kids. Brooke and Jake were partners and Briana and I were partners. We each made it through a couple of tosses before we burst our balloons.
And a spirited game of tug of war between the boys and the girls.
By the way - the girls won. Brooke was SUPER upset that they didn't do a round for the younger kids. She didn't get to participate in the tug of war.
