Pay it Forward
Tonight we went to dinner at a neighborhood Mexican food restaurant. We finished our meal and ordered sopapillas for dessert (a treat for Brooke for eating all her dinner). When our check came, our waiter told us that we only owed him for the sopapillas because someone else had paid for our entire family's dinner. He said it was the gentleman sitting back behind us a couple of booths and that the man told him to tell us to just take care of someone else's check sometime. We were floored! What an amazing gesture of kindness. I hadn't even noticed the man sitting there since my back was to him, but Roger had seen him sitting there. Of course, he was gone by the time our check arrived so we weren't able to thank him, but now we'll be on the lookout to 'pay it forward.'

I've ALWAYS wanted to buy someone's groceries for them --- you know the mom who is watching every single item as it is scanned to see how much she's spending? Yeah, I'm totally going to do it. See now, that nice man inspired you AND me! What an awesome treat for you all tonight!
What a neat surprise! See, there are still some good people out there.
